For best results, please submit a representative sample of the seed lot to be tested. Follow the sampling instructions from the current Rules for Seed Testing Handbook, published by the Association of Official Seed Analysts (AOSA).

Please be sure to submit enough seed to complete the seed health test. Submission of incorrect sample sizes will delay the start of your analysis and the processing of your sample. Consult your STA professional for more information on sample sizes.

Please include the following required information on each seed sample submitted:

• Species
• Variety
• Lot number
• Seed count
• Contact Name
• Company name
• Address
• Email
• Phone
• Fax (if new client)
• Desired test(s)

We also appreciate any information on seed treatments and disinfectants. Most seed health tests require seed that has not been treated with fungicides. Samples submitted with seed treatments may carry additional charges due to the need to wash as much of the treatment off as possible based on the test requested. This process may also affect the accurate detection of the target pathogen. For your convenience, we can supply you with sample bags complete with the STA Laboratory address.
